Staff members don't stop helping during summer break . . .

Bay Middle School

at Crocker Park Green Factory

Bay Middle School teacher Lawrence Kuh and friends were raising money for  the animals harmed during the recent Gulf of Mexico oil spill at the Crocker Park Green Factory sustainability event, Saturday, August 12. Students did face painting and offered Rosemary Sugar Cookies (yum) for donations. Proceeds went to The Nature Conservancy.

Bay Rockets MS 150

The Bay Rockets MS 150 team has raised almost $14,000 over the past three years. This year 20 team members rode 175 miles for their MS 150 Pedal to the Point ride, raising $6,700.

New installations . . .

Sitting pretty at the "pond"

A new bench at the Bay High pond creates a surprisingly restful spot for relaxing and enjoying the fountain (until about 3:11 p.m., that is!)

Meet you at the cafe

Smaller tables and groupings create a new cafe; area within the Bay High cafeteria. Look for a juke box soon!

New sign at board office

The district has installed a new, programmable electronic sign at the corner of Wolf and Dover Center Roads. The sign will show very brief messages (maximum of two lines, 13 characters per line). The sign also shows date, time and temperature. It is the first such sign approved in the City of Bay Village and will not use animation or colors other than amber for messages.

"We'll use it for brief highlights," said Superintendent Clint Keener. "The old sign needed to be replaced, and it made sense to go electronic this time." The sign was paid for with funds from a Coca-Cola vending agreement.

Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast

Mark your calendar for the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast at Bay Middle School, Sunday, September 26 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in only; no prior ticket sales. Cost is $6 (children under age 6 free).
