Bay High's Elizabeth Auckley will join The Ohio State University's Women's Swim Team next year.

The senior has an extensive list of honors earned in swimming already, including a first-place medal for her winning finish in the 100-meter butterfly swim event at the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSSA) Swimming Championship Finals in February last year.

Elizabeth has been named a High School All-American by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association for her performance in the 100-yeard backstroke. USA Swimming also named her a Scholastic All-American.

Bay Middle School Rake Out

More than 700 Bay Middle School students volunteered to rake the leaves of 140 homes of elderly and disabled Bay Village residents.

This is the eighteenth year for the Bay Middle School Rake Out.
What great students, parents and staff! Watch the video HERE.

Bay High has Rake Out Raffle for Project Earth

Project Earth just completed our Rake Out Raffle where students sold raffle tickets at concerts and sporting events from the end of October into early November.  Winners were drawn on November 8th after the Talent Show.  The O-Brien and Cady Families were excited to find out that Project Earth was coming to rake their lawns.  Ten students showed up to each property on November 11th and 13th and completed each job in just under 1 hour.  The grateful families thanked the students by providing cookies and hot chocolate after a job well done.  Project Earth would like to thank everyone who bought a raffle ticket.  The club will use the money to continue projects such as the Bike to School Challenge, Arbor Day Tree Planting, the 4th Grade Educational Program, and more.  We'll be back next year, ready to rake again!

Monster Elementary School - Class of 2026!

Kindergarten art students in Mrs. Fortunato's class at Normandy Elementary made "Monster School Pictures" to go along with Halloween and to "play off" their own school class pictures. Students learned about creating textures, tracing shapes, cutting and gluing.

Operation Christmas Child sends love from Westerly Elementary

Fourth-grade students in Dawn Robinson's and Kelli McMaugh's classes donated items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, wash cloths, small toys, school supplies, gloves and candy to pack shoeboxes full of these treats for Christmas presents to underprivileged boys and girls across the world.

The program is called Operation Christmas Child. It is sponsored by Samaritan's Purse, an international relief organization.

The teachers not only created an assembly-line for students to pack the shoeboxes, but used the experience as a math learning project, as well. Students had to determine the total cost of shipping their boxes at $7 each, and they had to calculate the number of miles their boxes would travel to get to places like Ethiopia, Ecuador and India.

You can contribute to Operation Christmas Child with a donation online at:

Both of the flags at right were flown over Bay High and then sent to a Bay High graduate currently serving in the military. Alumni M. F. Petro and Richard Gash, Jr. returned the flags after they were flown over bases overseas.

The flags are placed near a glass wall case that honors soldiers who graduated from Bay High. Stop in and view these impressive displays!

Meet the School Board

In our third video in a series Board of Education President Michael Caputo and  Bay High junior Claire Mercer (Lieutenant Governor for Ohio Key Club) discuss the importance of community partnerships, both at the Board of Education level and the student activity level. Superintendent Clint Keener hosts.

Watch for more discussions with our other board members in the months to come.
