Meeting minutes

of the Board of Education:

Regularly Scheduled Board of Education meetings are scheduled at the beginning of the calendar year.

The Bay Village Board of Education holds monthly meetings to conduct board business. Meetings are open to the public.

Meetings generally fall on the second and fourth Mondays of each month and are held at the K. T. Allen Educational Center, 377 Dover Center Road in Bay Village at 6:30 p.m.

The Board of Education must conduct all business in a public session with just a couple of exceptions: they may move to a closed executive session to discuss matters of personnel, negotiations, the purchase or sale of property, pending or imminent court action, or other matters legally requiring the maintenance of confidentiality or security.

Community Input at Board Meetings

We welcome all who wish to attend these public meetings. A part of each meeting is set aside for community input. Individuals who live or work within the Bay Village City School District are welcome to address the Board. Others may address the Board at the discretion of the Board President.

In order for the meetings to flow smoothly, we ask that the following guidelines be followed by anyone wishing to address the Board of Education:

  • Please limit your comments or suggestions to five minutes or less because a full agenda follows this portion of the meeting.

  • Comments and suggestions on the school district are welcome. Personal criticisms of members of the Board of Education or employees of the school district are out of order.

  • If you would like to be recognized, please raise your hand. After being recognized, please stand and clearly state and spell your name and address for the record.

The Board responds to citizen input when it is appropriate and possible. However, it will not debate issues in the Board meeting setting. If further research is required in order to respond to an inquiry, the Superintendent or administrative staff will respond to the citizen as soon as possible, but in no longer than four days.
