The Bay Village City School District encourages feedback from the public in a variety of ways. We hear from residents and parents through e-mail, telephone calls, letters and dedicated public comment periods at school board meetings and other public meetings. Surveys are an important tool when we need information from the public about particular topics. In the past, we have used telephone and paper surveys. This year, we are testing an Internet, web based survey program that uses a password security system. Parent/Guardian Survey Program 2007-2008 We have mailed unique Usernames and passwords to every household that has a student in the Bay Village City School District. We will be collecting parent/guardian opinions in a series of surveys this school year. Since every household can respond, this will give us a self-select sample which, while it cannot be statistically presented as a representation of the entire Bay Schools parent community, will help identify important information about our educational program so that we can further explore areas that may need attention.
Parent Survey on Math Curriculum
Community Surveys A telephone survey was conducted in January, 2006 with a random sample of community members regarding a variety of topics including demographic information, use of communication technologies and opinions about our schools. That survey report is available here. In 2008, we will be selecting another random sample of community members to participate in a series of surveys on a variety of topics. We will be utilizing our web based survey program. Those survey results, representative of the Bay Village community, will be reported on this page as they become available.
